“After installing BID’s Smart Vision on the trim line and witnessing its smooth operation over the past month, I went back and pulled the information of the previous year, comparing it to this past month of July. What I compared to the previous months was the uptime percentage of the trim line. The objective of this project was to increase uptime percentage with the idea that the Smart Vision cameras would help prevent issues such as false skews, tipple jams and undersized lumber going through the sorter, thereby leading to increased uptime. After comparing the average uptime percentage from August to the previous months, there was a noticeable improvement ranging from 2% to 5%.
